This previously recorded webinar discusses the NFPA has released their final decisions regarding the use of antifreeze in new and existing fire sprinkler systems. This class informs the participant about how and when antifreeze is permitted to be used. This class will discuss the changes and Emergency Amendments made to the current NFPA standards governing all Fire Sprinkler Systems in regards to the use of Antifreeze Solutions.  The Committees for these documents have had to adjust their position on this issue more than once.

 
These changes affect the following NFPA documents:

• NFPA 13 The Standard for the Installation Sprinkler Systems
• NFPA 13R The Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in Residential Occupancies Four Stories or Less in Height
• NFPA 13D The Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings
• NFPA 25 The Standard for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems

• Identify and describe the amount of antifreeze permitted in a fire sprinkler system.
• Determine when antifreeze is permitted to be used.
• Identify and describe ways to test antifreeze solutions for adequacy.
• Determine the differences in the requirements for antifreeze use within the different NFPA Standards.
