It can be maddening trying to determine what the minimum remote area size permitted. We will discuss how section 8.15.1.2 ties in with the calculation section of 11.2.3.1.4. We will help you answer the question, “Will I need to use a minimum remote area of 3,000 square feet?”
Upon completion of this lesson, participants will be able to:
Clearly identify the section of NFPA 13 that applies to any concealed space.
Determine if sprinklers are required in any concealed space
Determine if the calculation area must be 3,000 square feet or larger in size
Utilize NFPA 13 calculation method to achieve the most cost effective fire sprinkler system where concealed spaces are present.
